Podcasts have become my best friends. Perfect for keeping me company while I edit, drive, walk or go about daily chores.
If you’re also a podcast fan, here are six of my current ‘go to’ listens…
‘The High Low’ and ‘At Home With Lily & Anna’. These two podcasts are perfect if you enjoy a chatty chat between friends. I love the recommendations they offer, the topics they cover, and the mix of popular culture intertwined with more meaningful subject matter. If you prefer content that covers a little bit of current affairs/news, I suggest you try ‘The High Low’ first. Lily and Anna’s chats, are generally more playful and light. Sometimes things might get a tad sweary, or even a little risqué (for want of a better word). So it’s probably best to pop the headphones in - particularly if you have younger ears nearby.
‘David Tennant Does a Podcast With…’ and ‘Table Manners’. Do you enjoy a casual celeb interview? These guys have got you covered! David Tennant’s podcast is so chill. I love his accent, his relaxed interviewing style, and the intro music is a total vibe (it makes me feel like I should be sipping whisky and smoking a cigar). Most recently, I really loved his chat with Elisabeth Moss. The ‘Table Manners’ podcast is equally as relaxed but focuses more on food and family. Jessie Ware and her mum Lennie, cook a meal for their celebrity guest and as they eat, delightfully candid (and often funny) banter ensues. I found their recent chat with Alanis Morrisette really interesting, and also loved their meet up with Kylie Minogue.
‘Heartful’ and ‘Hashtag Authentic’, are here to feed your creative soul. I find both these podcasts so inspiring and they often have me nodding my head in agreement, or wishing I was taking notes. I particularly love Brooke’s enthusiasm and her wonderful ‘joie de vivre’ - you can hear her smiling through your headphones. There’s lots of episodes to pick and choose from, including interview content as well as solo episodes. Definitely worth a listen if you’re a creative trying to find your voice, and stay motivated in a world that can sometimes feel overwhelming.
